Hospital Support

What we do

The Hospital Support Committee distribute donations of new items of baby wear (premmie to 12 months), infant children’s wear, teddies, soft toys, children’s books, puzzles, games, activity packs, calico dolls, baby & adult rugs, beanies, breast cushions, drainage bags, quilts, twiddle muffs, bed socks, scarves, toiletry bags, towels, face washers, as well as items for Emergency packs.

We also sponsor a room at Ronald McDonald House at the John Hunter Hospital thanks to the generosity of Branches donating money to our Committee when making their annual donations and to our own fundraising efforts which also go towards our operational costs.

Where do the donations go?

Premmie and Baby items - Hospitals, Miracle Babies etc as requested.
Breast Cushions & Drainage bags – Hospitals, Breast Cancer Clinics, Breast Cancer Nurses etc
Crocheted & Knitted rugs – Nursing homes, Hospitals, Ronald McDonald Houses, Women’s refuges, and Rehab centres, Charities, Refugee centres etc as requested.
Soft toys - Hospitals, Ronald McDonald House, Ambulance Service, Rural Bushfire Brigades, etc
Emergency packs – Hospitals, Refuges, Rural Fire Service, Community groups etc
Socks, Scarves & Beanies, Gloves – Women’s refuges, Rehab Centres, Community Groups & Charities.
Quilts, Books, Puzzles, Activity packs – Hospital Children’s wards, Ronald McDonald Houses, Community groups & Charities etc as requested.
We also make up Mother & Baby packs for Local and International distribution.

Some Branches, outside groups & private individuals are very generous in donating these items to the Hospital Support Committee at State Office. We try any send out as many thank you notes as possible. Please be assured that we give careful thought about how we distribute these donations and give to them to as many places as possible and appropriate.

Please support your local hospital, nursing home, women’s refuge & community groups where possible. We love to hear what your Branch or Group does to aid your those in need in your local communities. Please consider posting your work on the CWA closed Facebook page and/or send us a short annual report to the Committee as this enables us to have a better understanding of the needs and ways of helping communities.
